Author: Asher Tensei
Genre: YA Fantasy
Genre: YA Fantasy
Eurich is thrown into a seemingly ill-fated destiny. After learning of his legendary magic, he is convinced that he alone must stop an impending doom, but nothing is ever as it seems. His best friends Jason and Raine try their best to help him save the world, but help isn’t what he needs —he needs a way across the barrier.
Despite this fate thrust upon him, Eurich knows what is coming. The world is headed toward Chaos due to a weakening barrier between Earth and a world that has been hidden for millennia.
Our world is about to take a sharp turn for the worse. Extra moons are rising in the sky, and panic is at an all-time high. Worst of all, there are no explanations.
Saving the world begins with a choice —but is humanity worth him risking his own life?
Interview
1. Please tell the readers a bit about yourself.
I’m Asher and I think I might spend too much time with my head in the clouds. I listen to really melancholy music and I think about Utopia often—as in what the world would be like if it weren’t so hateful, or what the world would be like if even just a tiny slither of fantasy made its way to us. I just want to change things so much, but right now I’ll stick with sharing my writing with the world.
2. What types of books do you write?
I write young adult fantasy, but buried someplace far away I have quite a few stories ranging from pirates to espionage to overthrow the government. I may dig those up and introduce those to the world at some point in my life. Right now, I am totally dedicated to young adult!
3. How many books have you written?
I’ve only written one book to completion, and that’s Mana. It was also traditionally published and is actually for sale, but I’ve found such a niche in Wattpad that I don’t even mind losing out on a few sales. Readers there are especially amazing!
4. What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?
I, Frankenstein! Gosh that movie just looks so action packed. Oh, and House of Hades by Rick Riordan. I can’t wait.
5. What type of books do you enjoy reading?
This is the opposite of what I write, but I enjoy books where hope is taken away from both the characters and the readers. I find solace upon things that are truly sad. So, maybe a good mystery or thriller. I’m pretty much open to different genres.
6. If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?
My two brothers and my sister. The island might be barren, but I know with my family there, we could accomplish anything. I’ve got a brother that plays Minecraft, so I’m sure he learned a thing or two from building with sand!
7. Are you considering a sequel?
I am, actually! Golden Darkness. Golden Darkness is the sequel to Mana and just like Mana, I will upload Golden Darkness to Wattpad. I’m just so happy that people are reading my works, so I have no problem uploading anything to the site. I won’t give any spoilers, but if you loved Mana, Golden Darkness will not disappoint!
8. What inspired you to become a writer?
Actually, just like Suzanne Collins, I became inspired to enter the writing world when I was just a kid having Edgar Allen Poe stories recited to me. There was just something about his Dark Romanticism that filled me with hope—from stories like The Raven. I wrote Mana because I was delighted by the recent success of Twilight and I wanted to prove that I could write a wonderful story as well. It started out as a competition that I held with myself and the story has become so much more since!
