Be A Part

Madison Rennison is the most popular girl in school. Jamie Glenn is the self proclaimed nerd who has a crush on Madison. Madison only dates bad boys who are constantly partying and drinking. Sadly, Jamie would much rather spend his Friday night with his computer and candy than with beers and babes. Suddenly, Jamie realizes the only way to get the girl is to transform himself in to a bad boy. Will he be able to change and earn Madison's love? Or will he forever stay a "nerd?"

Interview

1. Please tell the readers a bit about yourself.

Hi. I'm Danielle. I'm a teenager and was born and raised in NYC. I speak English and Hebrew. Music, reading, and writing are my life. I love to play basketball and of course, read and write.

2. What types of books do you write?

I mainly write historical fiction and being a hopeless romantic, romance. My stories usually include some love triangle or a relationship where the two characters hate each other, but eventually fall in love. I also write poetry. Be a Part is my first foray into the world of realistic fiction.

3. How many books have you written?

I've tried to write many, but I have completed only three books and am in the middle of two.

4. What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?

Catching Fire! I always thought that the Hunger Games series is stupid, but then I read the first book and fell in love.

5. What type of books do you enjoy reading?

I love romance, teen fiction, and historical fiction.

6. If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?

1. Books
2. A box full of food
3. A case of water bottles

7. Are you considering a sequel?

Currently, no. Then again, Be a Part is nowhere near complete, so you never know.

8. What inspired you to become a writer?

I can't place my finger on one specific thing that inspired me, but I can say that I've always loved to read. I suppose what inspired me was the desire to create stories like the ones I read.

Excerpt

"Just go," he says, already pushing me off the bench. Alyssa rolls her eyes.

I don't know why, but I get up and go. Maybe those flecks in my bread weren't grains but weed. I walk over to Madison's table. Suddenly, I feel painfully, awkwardly tall. I'm one of those kids who's six feet tall but insanely skinny, so I basically look like a pretzel rod. I feel especially tall next to Madison and her petite friends. "H-hi Madison," I stammer out.

"Hi, Jamie," she says. Well, she's acknowledging my presence, so that's a start. But what do I say next?

"Um," I stutter, "are you busy Saturday night?"

"Yeah, sorry. I promised a friend I'd go to his party," she says sweetly, her voice dripping with more fake sugar than a Diet Coke factory.

"Oh. Well, if you ever don't have plans, then..." I say.

She laughs and I walk away. I hear her whisper to her friends, "I'm pretty sure I'm going to be booked for the rest of eternity." Her friends all laugh and I turn around. Immediately, they sober up and stare at me like I'm an alien from space.

I walk back to our table, dejected. Alyssa already has a self-righteous, "I told you so" look. I give her an "I tried" look and shrug. "Do you have to give me that look?" I ask. She nods and is about to say something, but Alex interrupts her. "Man, you have to change."

"Change what? What can I do?" I ask.

"Change your approach. Change your persona. Become the type of man she wants and likes," he says.

Interview

1. Please tell the readers a bit about yourself.

My name is Heidi, I'm 18 and I was born and raised in England. Although, I am fortunate enough to have German heritage and I'm proud of both parts of my culture.

I'm currently starting university studying psychology to become a counsellor/therapist, because I just love being able to listen to people's problems and help the, by offering support.

Oh and I don't have a laptop so everything is written via Ipad!

2. What types of books do you write?

I'm a hopeless romantic. As much as I like thrillers, crime and action I know that I will be more interested in a book if there's some sort of precious relationship involved. If there's a relationship, it forces the reader to become involved in the relationship also.

3. How many books have you written?

When I was younger I used to write stories constantly. They were filled with my idiosyncrasies and dreams of a child. However, Un-Like-Me Enemy is my first attempt at a proper book (that I now deem as a worthy read).

4. What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?

There is no one - I like too many. My philosophy when it comes to it is that, if it makes me cry then it's a good film/book. The more I cry the better the book/film. I'm proud to admit that I'm the one in the back of the cinema crying hysterically if the main two characters die/develop a disease/on the brink of death/loose their baby/pet dies/life falls apart in any sort of way.

5. What type of books do you enjoy reading?

Anything gripping/conveys emotion - but mostly romance.

6. If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?

1. A tent because I'm not fond of wildlife so if all else fails I can keep them away while I sleep.
2. A friend/family member so I don't go crazy and start talking to a ball.
3. a knife and flint combo set. Quite simply so I can ensure I have something to eat, I can make a fire and I could use it to make shelter, chop trees etc etc...

Aha I think I could survive if I ever was in that situation but I pray that it won't EVER come to that!

7. Are you considering a sequel?

No I'm not for 'Un-Like-Me Enemy' but I have started a new book called 'Oh Brother...' Which I will start uploading within the next month.

8. What inspired you to become a writer?

Honestly, just from reading other literature and Wattpad has made it possible for me to publish my works with no hassle. I seem to be able to find meaning in most things; whether that is song lyrics, quotes, poems or books it doesn't matter, because they all convey some sort of emotion and tell a story. I love the idea of being able to write something that can move someone. I can't sit down and plan though, if I want to write I just let it flow instantaneously.

Excerpt

I  abruptly wake up with an intense feeling of nausea taking over. I felt so alone as i sat there clutching my stomach as tears began to fall defiantly. It happened again. He managed to squirm his way into my dreams, turning what was supposed to be my world of fantasy into a world of pure abuse. I hated how he still manages to destroy me a little, I can't stand that he still makes me feel anything when I think of him. My tears are just an expression of my inability to control myself - I'm weak ...

*~FLASHBACK~

"Shhh my little one. We don't want anyone to ruin our precious time together"

"But why daddy? I don't want to leave mummy out"

"Mummy is busy, she doesn't have time for you, unlike me. Your my special little girl...I'll always have time for our moments together. Remember mummy will take these moments away if she finds out. Then you won't have a daddy."

"No! Daddy I'm sorry! I promise I'll never tell mummy! I love you daddy...please don't leave me."

"Shhh little one" he whispered wiping away the innocent tears that ran down my little  pink cheeks. "Tears show weakness. Don't be a stupid. Don't be a weak excuse for a human. Don't take after your mother or I will leave you."

I was so confused. Why would he leave? What's wrong with mummy? "But I love mummy too...mummy is perfect!"

He growled in frustration "fine! Cry! Your pathetic!"  He stomped away and slammed my bedroom door shut causing even the hinges to shake in terror.

I cower, instinctively adopting the foetal position on my little pink bed and began to whimper...I began reciting the words that I have heard daddy say so many times, they come so easily now they are ingrained in my memory; 'it's all my fault...I upset daddy again. I'm such a meany'.*

I remorsefully removed the bed sheets that ensured my warmth and threw them on the floor in anger. Sitting on the edge of my bed I rubbed the sleep from my eyes demanding my senses to waken with haste. Looking at the clock on my bedside table it flashed two  O'clock In the morning as if mocking me. I grunted and stumbled towards the bathroom, flicking the light switch on before supporting myself on the sink basin. For a second I just stood still to allow my body clock to adjust to the rude awakening, listening to the soft sound of water flowing from the cold tap. I splashed some water on my face and cupped my hands under the stream gathering a small puddle, then alike a wilderness survivor i slurped the cool liquid to quench my thirst.

After managing to make my way back into bed with the once deposited sheets rightfully back around me, I reached for my phone to text the one person who would be ok with me disturbing them at this time. After talking to her last night about it all and how I feel when I'm with Luke has obviously reminded my conscious psyche of things that I've tried to forget. Things I've tried to bury. You see it's all a bit like a can of worms and now those putrid worms are spilling out into my dreams.

Interview

1. Please tell the readers a bit about yourself.
Hi there. I'm a British-born Chinese teenager, who can vaguely speak Latin, French, Spanish, Mandarin and Cantonese. I'm also not a bad chess player and I enjoy tennis, as well. Of course, I aim to develop as a writer and to, one day, get published.

2. What types of books do you write?
I write fantasy mainly, though I hope to delve into humour, some day.

3. How many books have you written?
None which are completed. Like many an aspiring writer, I write stuff and then get demotivated when I get to the black trench that is the Middle Of A Novel. Still, I hope to finish my current fantasy project, linked to above.

4. What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?
Saving Mr Banks and Captain Philips: both are Tom Hank films. They look amazing and are both based on true stories. One is about Walt Disney's struggle to make a film out of PL Traver's novel, Mary Poppins. The other is about a ship which is hijacked by pirates and the captain's bravery in the face of adversity.

5. What type of books do you enjoy reading?
I enjoy reading the genres which I enjoy writing: fantasy, humour and, recently, I've delved into a bit of mystery and crime.

6. If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?
1. A friend to talk to
2. Bear Grylls because he's, well, Bear Grylls
3. A water filter to clean water.

7. Are you considering a sequel?
Hm, I would be lying if I were to say "no", but I still stand by the fact that you should focus on a first novel, instead of thinking about how to stretch out an idea into a million dollar franchise. You should try and make the first novel as best you can, before you plan on making it into a series. Lots of "series" could have been made into one book, but the author just wanted to milk a good idea.

8. What inspired you to become a writer?
Of course, reading Harry Potter. As I have said in other interviews, I read the books and thought, "That seems easy!". I have since come to realise that I was very, very wrong

Excerpt

It is mid-afternoon when I call it a day. The police patrol will be out and about soon and we don’t want to highlight the fact that we are two teenagers living rough on the streets.

Placing the guitar back in the case, I lie beside Jack, who still has not moved an inch. I think about the humming which the homeless man mentioned and his face pressed close against mine.

Do you hear it, Luke? Do you hear the Hum? And all of a sudden, I do. It’s a low beat in the background -ever so slight like the drone of a bee trapped in a glass, yearning for escape, for the chance to be free.

I hear the same craving in the humming. It fills up every black void with… everything. I can feel every emotion, hear every song, see every wonder.

It’s as if the murmuring has followed me all my life.  Then the sound of distinct voices breaks through the spell; I can hear whispering in the Hum, like the quiet heartbeat of a world living just beyond ours.

A bright light floods through the crack in my eyelids and I feel strong winds buffeting me from everywhere.

The world is spinning and all sense of direction is gone. Then it all just stops. When I open my eyes, the sky is a starless blue, the buildings have vanished and hulking green trees surround me.

BOTM - Facebook Crush? by angellover254

Facebook Crush?

My whole life changed on September tenth, when he accepted my friend request on Facebook; a popular socializing network. That was almost two years ago, now I'm broken, and crying every single day...but what exactly happened? (Based on real life events)

Interview

1. Please tell the readers a bit about yourself.

Well, I'm seventeen-years-old, and I go by the name Angel on Wattpad. It's just a nickname, but mostly anyone can guess my real name if they read my bio. I'm about to start college, majoring under graphic designs. I'm probably going to do creative writing as a minor. My favorite color is purple! (I'm pretty sure a lot of you guys already knew that) and I hate cheese >><<

2. What types of books do you write?

I enjoy writing all types of books, beside horror. I think romance and supernatural would be my favorite genres to write.

3. How many books have you written?

I have completed a total of nine stories (some are not online) and I probably have started over a total of twenty, but never got to finish most of them.

4. What movies and/or books are you looking forward to this year?

I honestly don't pay attention to releases dates, but I'm looking forward to John Green's book 'The Faults in Our Stars' turn into a movie. I'm not sure when that comes out though...

5. What types of books do you enjoy reading?

Supernatural and fantasy kinds, or any kind of romance novel. I'm a sucker for those!

6. If you were stranded on a desert island what three things would you want with you?

My laptop, food, and water.

7. Are you considering a sequel?

Already considered it :) I'd already started and finish the sequel which is called 'Wattpad Infatuation?'

8. What inspired you to become a writer?

I guess art did. Without art, I would have never wanted to write a story behind a character I made up, and I would have never experience the happiness I get when I'm writing. It's like an escape from real life, just like when I'm drawing.

Excerpt

Dear... No, wait!
Starting this thing off with Dear, isn't going to cut it. Dear is just way too common and simple, I need something more creative...something like...um- Oh wait! I know, what about lotus flower? Okay I know that's a little bit girly since this letter's for you; a guy, but I used to call you lotus flower so why not?...right?

Okay, let's start over.

Lotus Flower,

You're probably wondering why I'm even writing this letter in the first place. That or you think I'm crazy. Any who, this letter is more for me, rather than for you. I needed to finally sit down and write this out, and I thought this would be the perfect way to do that. Even though I’ll probably never show this to you.

Well, I guess I should probably start from the beginning. Remember the first time I met you? That day feels like it was just yesterday. I was on the computer, bored out of my mind (as usual), so I decided to go on Facebook (I know I’m addicted, but you used to be, too!). I was minding my own business, browsing through my news feed, when I saw your profile. All of my friends seemed to be adding you, so I decided to check out your profile. I’m not a stalker - promise!

What shocked me the most was your profile picture. I wasn't really paying attention to it since it is just a small square box next to someone’s name. Once I noticed it, though, let’s just say I was a little bit blown away.

Your blonde golden locks, those amazing deep brown eyes, and that smile, oh my god that angelic-smile!

After staring at your picture for about twenty minutes straight (sadly, I’m not kidding), I made up my mind that I wanted-more like needed-to be your friend. So I clicked on the ‘Add Friend’ button and waited for you to accept my request.
