Love Spirits
What Happens In Venice
Book One
by Diana Cachey
Genre: Romance/paranormal
Number of pages: 160
Word Count: 40,000

Tagline: Among the romantic canals of Venice—and oh so many Italian distractions—can a stunning American lawyer and her psychic sister help the Ghosts of Venice solve a hushed-up crime?

Book Description:
Louisa Mangotti is a gorgeous American lawyer and Interpol expert who, after being offered a job working with the international crime unit in Venice, receives a mysterious postcard from the Venetian Ghosts, the ancient protectors of the Republic. But Louisa assumes her bad-boy ex, Matteo, sent it in a quixotic attempt to gain her attention.  Louisa may have dismissed the ghosts, but the ghosts aren’t quite done with her.

When the bodies of two glassmakers wash up on Murano Island, the cryptic messages persist. Reluctantly, Louisa calls upon Matteo to help decipher the clues. And before she knows it, a flame that was never fully extinguished is rekindled.  Sensing that her sister is in over her head, Barbara Mangotti rushes to the rescue, only to be lured away by two handsome Venetian men.

With time running out, can the two beauties solve a crime that could threaten the city of Venice itself?

Author Interview

1. Louisa, describe yourself in seven words or less.
Foodie, fashionista, lawyer, Venice aficionado, insecure romantic.

2. Tell us something about your current hometown.
Right now,  I live in the most romantic place on earth,  Venice,  Italy.  You can consider it my hometown because I don't plan to go back to rainy Seattle any time soon, although it too is beautifully full of waterways and scenic views.  It also has kayaks, speedboats and sailors,  but what it's missing is essential to me, namely, gondoliers.

3. What's the strangest thing that has ever happened to you?
When I was a little girl, I woke up one morning and my mom had packed up and moved out.  With no warning. None. And she never came back.

4. What's your favourite food?
Cicchetti, also known as Venetian appetizers. I especially love the seafood variety.

5. Can you tell us a little about what to expect in Love Spirits?
Sexy men, romantic canals, murder, adventure,  costume balls, Italian and Venetian dialogue, delicious food and ghosts who plant cryptic clues within the secret world of the Venetian lagoon.

6. Can you tell us something about yourself we don't learn from the book?
I do Brazilian wax.

7. What is your author Diana Cachey like?
Crazy busy, generous to a fault, wife, and aunt to dozens of nieces and nephews, including FOUR sets of twins! Diana is a scuba diving junkie, coffee maven, Kundalini yoga practitioner, meditator, ghost whisperer and cat lover -- well, she loves all animals really, on land, in the air and under the sea. She is also a budding YouTube star with over forty secrets of Venice and Italy videos. She holds an online Halloween party every year at her website called HauntedPalooza. I told you she was crazy busy, didn't I? Oh yea, she is also addicted to Venice LIKE ME!

8. Name five items in your purse or pockets right now.
Let me see, today I've got lip plumper,  lash-lenghthening mascara, Euros, designer sunglasses and condoms (wishful thinking).

9. What was your first impression of Matteo, your Venetian ex-boyfriend.
Oh dear, this is bad --  I thought that guy is trouble but I want to sleep with him. Then I said to myself: yes oh yes he will be mine. Bad move on my part.

10. If you had one chance to change anything about your life, what would it be?
I would know my father better.
