BOOK REVIEW: Chef-A-Rella by Marie Agerton

Author: Marie Agerton
Genre: Picture Book

Book Description:
Chef-A-Rella is a childrens' book about a determined little princess who wants to be a chef but whose mother, the queen, insists she should be a ballerina. This is a heartfelt rhyming story about encouraging your children to follow their dreams and to walk in their gifts.

Princess Danielle loves nothing more than to cook up mouth-watering meals, but all her mother wants is a daughter that follows in her footsteps and follows the path of a traditional princess, and her dream is for her daughter to be a ballerina.

This is a heartwarming story with a good message for children: believe in yourself and always follow your heart. Despite her mother's persistenc, Princess Danielle stays true to herself and proves that her dreams are worth fighting for.

I did love the colouful illustration, but I thought Princess Danielle looked a little too mature in the face in most of the pictures. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the book.
