Wake Up Call
Avery Hale had spent her whole childhood abused by her drunken, hopped-up parents. Broken from a lifetime of hate and pain she grew up realizing that trust and love just didn't exist. Not in her world at least.
At the age of eighteen, she packed up and moved far away determined to escape her hurtful past and start a new life. Once on her own she comes to the conclusion that the emptiness still exist. Doing what she had to to survive she found herself mixed up in exotic dancing, drinking and meaningless sexual relationships unable to feel anything, for anyone. She was sure that her life was worthless and there was nothing left for her. On the other hand, so she thought.
After meeting a beautiful stranger, Jace, her life suddenly is turned upside down. Everything that she truly believed suddenly gets questioned and then she is left to figure out if there is really more to her than she could ever have imagined. Can the love of another broken person be enough to help Avery, or is she already too far gone?
Interview
1. Please tell the readers a bit about yourself.
My name is Victoria, and I’ve been writing for about 2 years now. I’m working on publishing my story Wake Up Call and am looking forward to writing my next big romance. I live in Rockford with my boyfriend, Will, and our two cats, Ace and Puma. They are little brats, but I love them. My boyfriend included. I work at a hardware store and in my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing. I’m a huge fan of “The Vampire Diaries”, “True Blood”, and “Teen Wolf” and I try my hardest to be sure that I never miss an episode. Oh and I’m obsessed with chicken. It’s my favorite. Well, mostly the chicken skin, so if anyone eats chicken around me, I steal their skin when they’re not looking. I almost always get caught.
2. What types of books do you write?
I enjoy writing romance. It seems to be the easiest for me. I’m working on a fantasy story, but of course it will be full of romance. Can’t live without it.
3. How many books have you written?
I’ve written about 11 books, but only five are completed. Wake Up Call is my only completed book that I feel is written well. The others were kind of written in a rush. I’m going to change that with my new stories. No more writing rushed stuff.
4. What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?
I’m looking forward to reading “Wake” by Amanda Hocking. I just ordered it and I’m waiting for it to come through mail. I’m in the middle of reading her Trylle Novel now and they’re really good. She was a self-published author and just got picked up by a big company. And for movies, pretty much anything that involves Ryan Gosling, Ryan Reynolds, Jason Statham or Alex Pettyfer. I love them.
5. What type of books do you enjoy reading?
I really enjoy reading Fantasy, Vampire, and anything that has to do with Romance. For a while there I was stuck on only Vampire books. I couldn’t get away from them, but then I started reading on Wattpad and started writing my own romance stories.
6. If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?
If I were stranded on a desert island, I would have to have
1. A book, of course.
2. Some chicken or else I’d die.
3. And…this last one is hard. Probably my computer so that I could write, although, I suppose it wouldn’t work on a desert island. Can’t I just count paper and pen as one item, then?
7. Are you considering a sequel?
I don’t believe that I will be writing a sequel. I would only write a sequel to Fantasy work. Probably not for any of my Romances.
8. What inspired you to become a writer?
Actually, Wattpad inspired me to become a writer. I downloaded Wattpad so that I could read free books and I saw that you could upload your own work. I thought, why not? Therefore, I wrote my first story called “Some Roommate” and it got a lot of attention. It inspired me to keep going even though I didn’t think it was all that great. So thank you everyone for standing by me and inspiring me to become a writer and to keep writing. If it weren’t for you guys, then I wouldn’t be self -publishing my work.
Excerpt
My heart stopped and suddenly it was hard to breathe. His voice always had that effect on me. It was like poison slowly running through my veins killing me bit by bit. Like a drug that I couldn’t get enough of even though I was almost down to my last breath.
Jace took a step forward and grabbed my hand. He slowly trailed his fingers over my face and backed me into the wall. My heart stopped again, if that was even possible. “You can’t leave,” he whispered. “I need you.” His warm breath kissed my lips as he bit his bottom lip and placed both of his hands around my face. They were warm and soft to the touch. Too big for my fragile face, although I wanted to bury myself in them. “Breathe. There is no one here except the two of us. Breathe,” he whispered.

Interview
1. Please tell the readers a bit about yourself.
Im a writer(obviously) my favorite book I've written so far is The Boy In Suite 121 && Trapped Like Crazy. I'm kind of a weird person that can't be easily figured out. I'm sarcastic, kinda monotone, dead serious person, yet I fan girled at the One Direction concert ! I'm such a quirky person ... But I don't think I've figured myself out quite yet. However,I love reading and writing it's something I love to do but my dream is to become a psychologist some day.
2. What types of books do you write?
I started writing Mystery/Thriller-Romances because I wanted to put my own twist on it. But as of late I've found myself more inclined to write Science Fiction-Romances. So I'm starting to venture into that.
3. How many books have you written?
Four at the moment, five if you count the one unpublished. I've actually co written 3 full length books, it's crazy. But no one will ever ever EVER read those full length books.
4. What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?
Insidious Chapter Two, I love a scary movie (:
5. What type of books do you enjoy reading?
Supernatural books, but nothing too cliche. I like plot twists. I'm a sucker for a good love story though !
6. If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?
1. Phone
2. Food
3. Electricity
7. Are you considering a sequel?
I'm not sure yet, I haven't completely got the ending in mind yet. Trapped Like Crazy was actually a dream I had. So we'll all have to wait and see.
8. What inspired you to become a writer?
You know, I'm not sure. For as long as I can remember I've always had a story I wanted to write. I've been writing the last ten years, at least and it's just something I've always enjoyed and I want others to enjoy my writing as well.
Excerpt
“Carlisle! Stay awake, please. I need you to stay awake. Please, please don’t go.” I plead as tears rolled down my face. Why was this happening to me! Carlisle was all I had right now, I was afraid that if he fell asleep, he’d never wake up. I couldn’t deal with another loss.
“I can’t Elli, listen to me,” His voice is barely audible and I have to place my head closer to his mouth. “I’m going to be fine, but I cannot stay awake much longer.”
“Carlisle, please.”
“Lay on me, we’ll be okay, I promise.” He requests and I comply. I feel like there’s no hope for us anymore. We were going to rot in here. We didn’t know who committed us, all we knew was that I was admitted for self-mutilation as well as hallucinations and Carlisle was being treated for hallucinations. They didn’t treat me because I wasn’t resisting it. I told them I wasn’t having any hallucinations and the tests proved they didn’t. Carlisle didn’t comply so they assumed he was, that’s all I knew.
He put his arm around me and barley managed to kiss my head before he whispered, "We've got to get out of here."
I nodded in agreement.
The question was, which one of us were actually crazy?

Keep Calm and Carry On
Violet is alone. In another country, in the middle of a war. Her task is simple, but has she made a big mistake?
Interview
1. Please tell the readers a bit about yourself.
I am 18, from England, and heading to university next year to study
English Literature. Apart from reading and writing, I can often be found singing, especially folk music or songs from musicals. At the moment, I am obsessed with Les Miserables and Matilda the Musical!
2. What types of books do you write?
Anything that pops into my head really, I don’t tend to think about the genre. Keep Calm and Carry On is a sort of mystery/spy book but I don’t actually read much of that genre so it surprised me a bit that I ended up writing one. The first chapter was originally a short story for a competition, and I enjoyed writing it so I decided to see what happened to Violet next!
3. How many books have you written?
Not very many- I have ideas but I rarely actually write the whole book. Miss Havisham is my completed short story, and Keep Calm and Carry On is the book I am still working on at the moment. I am a bit of a perfectionist so it takes me a while to be happy with what I have written!
4. What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?
I am about to go and see Despicable Me 2 this afternoon, which I am really looking forward to! I would like to read ‘Perfect’ by Rachel Joyce, because I loved reading her first book ‘The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry’.
5. What type of books do you enjoy reading?
I find this question really tricky because I love all types of books. I am reading Les Miserables at the moment, and I have just finished reading Lady Audley’s Secret- but I also love lots of other books. Debi Gliori’s Pure Dead books and all of Roald Dahl’s are some of my favourites, and of course Harry Potter!
6. If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?
1. My family and friends
2. The Bodleian library
3. Tea (oh, and food might be useful too…)
7. Are you considering a sequel?
I haven’t finished the book yet, so I haven’t thought about it- I will see how it goes…
8. What inspired you to become a writer?
I don’t remember ever not wanting to be a writer, so I am not really sure. Many books have inspired me- I suppose loving reading makes writing a natural step really.
Excerpt
Violet walks down the street. She carries a handbag which contains coded messages. As Violet works, she is constantly on high alert. Her neck aches from twisting around too often to check no-one is following her. As she passes a shop window, she glances at it to check she is not being followed.
She rounds the corner. There are two routes she could take- one is much quicker, so she could complete her task faster. She is reluctant to take this route, as it goes down a small alley.
She decides to turn into the alley, get it over with. She is not safe anywhere, so she might as well. There is no-one there.
Her heels make a fresh, satisfying sound as they clop against the cobbles. Her breath is quick, shallow, afraid. The narrow walls feel too close together, squashing her, making the air around her feel more compressed, harder to breathe. She shakes her head- what nonsense! She reminds herself that she is an intelligent, capable adult and should be rational. She has greater things to fear than small spaces. Claustrophobia is not a commonly appreciated characteristic in a spy. She almost laughs at this thought, but laughter is such an alien thing to her now.
Two more feet and she'll be out into the open street again. She realises she has been tensing her shoulders, and they relax a little as her mind wanders back to England, back to feeling safe. One more step.
A hand clasps her shoulder.
