The Honey Bunch Kids is an entertaining and educational chapter book series for boys and girls between ages 7 and 12. This realistic fiction series follows the hilarious adventures of a group of dynamic, feisty characters in middle school. As the characters face drama, they work to establish and maintain solid friendships while surviving the classroom of their strict teacher, Ms. Dorothy A. Hodgebottom! The Honey Bunch Kids series uses humor while including strong vocabulary, history, and focusing on themes of friendship and respecting others. About the Author
Chental-Song Bembry attends Hampton University as a sophomore Journalism major with a minor in Leadership Studies. She is the creator, author and illustrator of The Honey Bunch Kids book series, which she uses to promote literacy and entrepreneurship in youth. The Honey Bunch Kids follows the hilarious adventures of a group of animated characters who attend middle school. As the characters face drama, they are challenged throughout the school year with establishing and maintaining solid friendships. It is Chental’s goal to develop The Honey Bunch Kids into a global brand, which will include apparel, bedding, animated series, holiday specials, books, toys, music and games for boys and girls ages 5 and up.

To date, Chental has been recognized by Black Enterprise, Ebony, the New York Nets and the National Urban League. In 2014, she won the national gold medal in the category of Entrepreneurship during the NAACP ACT-SO competition. In 2015, Chental was acknowledged at BET Honors as an “Early Riser” and at Black Girls Rock as a “Making a Difference Girl” for her accomplishments as an author and motivational speaker. In July, Chental was ranked second on the HBCU Buzz “Top 30 Under 30” list. Most recently, she received the BRAG (Black Retail Action Group) scholarship for her passion for retail and community service.

  2. This book series sounds so fun and educational, which I really love! The age group that this series targets (age 7-12) is so important for kids to really get interested in reading. I would definitely get this series for my kids!
