Author Interview

1. Tell a little about yourself.  What you do when you're not writing? What are your aspirations for the future?
I who grew up in Pennsylvania and transplanted into New Jersey.  I love taking pictures, reading, and being outside.  I pray that my future will be to continue on whatever is God's path.

2. When and why did you start writing?
I fell in love with reading, and then my passion grew into writing. However, I don't remember a time that I wasn't thinking about stories or involved in one.  It was too many years later, during my own period of convalesce, my husband encouraged me to write these stories down, and I did! Although there were few times when I didn't write, I found that it wasn't many.  Writing is just something I do.

3. Have any particular novels or writers influenced your writing?
Many writers have drawn me into their character's world, and it was their stories that ignited my writer's spark.

4. Give us some backstory behind Revenge. Where and when did you write it?
Years ago, I saw an old photo of conveyer belts and one person assisting another with work, but the assisting theme stuck and quickly sparked a thumbnail of a story. I usually let story sketches simmer and don't write them straight away. For me, more ideas can come freely when the story is just a sketch and the plot comes more into focus in time. Once my story went into the rewrite stages, it grew to become Revenge, and thanks to my wonderful editor this story became even better!

5. What was your favourite part of writing Revenge?
Getting to know these characters.

6. What does your writing schedule look like?
I enjoy writing every night, and I always have several stories going at one time. This way, if I hit a road block or a detour inside one story, I can switch to another to keep on writing!

7. Which fictional character would you like to take to dinner and why?
Detective Ron Bellows.  I want to know more about him to discover his story . . ..

8. Besides your lead, do you have a favourite character in the story?
Officer Susan Bennett.

9. What is one of the most surprising things you've learned as a writer?
A story is not just a story. Storytelling is truly a craft.

10. Any advice for aspiring authors?
Keep writing and reading and don't stick to one genre. Try many to find where you belong.
