Description:
Since becoming
oracle to the demivampire two years ago, advice columnist Sophie has battled
werewolves and survived a vampire attack (or two). However, not only was she powerless
to save her lover Marek when he slipped to the brink of evolution, she also
witnessed his transformation into a falcon, the symbol of Horus United.
Sophie’s quest
to save Marek is further complicated when rock star Dierk Adeluf – who also
happens to be the king of the Werekind – invites her backstage after a concert.
Just when it seems she will find respite from heartache, Sophie is bitten by a
werewolf and Dierk decides she is destined to be his queen.
Sophie is caught
between the demivamps she loves and the Were who commands her to love him.
Throw in his jealous wanna-be girlfriend—a true bitch if ever there was one—and
an ambush by witches, and there you have the big mess that Sophie calls her
life. And, hello? Her soul mate is still a bird.
She’s supposed to be the girl with all the
answers, but Sophie needs more than a little advice–she needs divine
intervention.

Character Interview with Sophie Galen
1. Tell us a little about yourself - your
name, where you grew up?
I’m Sophie Galen. I grew up north of Allentown, PA. I
went to college in Philly and now live in a town in southeast PA called
Balaton. I practiced nursing for a dog’s age but I’m currently an advice
columnist for The Mag. Oh yeah, and
I’m an oracle known by the Demivampire as “The Sophia”. Kind of been wondering
if my folks had a little premonition when they named me.
2. Who was your high school crush? I have
to name just one?
I had a dozen rock-star imaginary boyfriends. And, there was
the whole Johnny Depp-or-Richard Grieco period I went through. Cripes, that was
a rough year. J
Lucky I didn’t have to crush in real life.
I had Jared. Sandy brown curls, eyes the color of my favorite blue jeans, and a
kiss that curled my toes. How lucky could I be, finding my soul mate when I was
just seventeen?
3. What is the most romantic gesture you
have ever done for someone?
Love them so much that I would take all their
grief, their despair, their every pain and protect them from it, even if it
hurt me.
4. What's your ideal Valentine's Day date
and/or gift?
Shoes. Give me great shoes and I’ll give you my undying affection.
5. If you could have just one wish to
change something about yourself, what would it be?
I would be braver. People
think I’m strong, but I think destiny just isn’t ready to kill me off yet.
Serendipity or dumb luck, I don’t know. Maybe I just have a load of grace under
pressure. But when I’m alone at night, and it’s just me thinking, I cannot
figure out how I’ve gotten through everything. Jared once told me that only
when a heart is broken can you see the strength inside. I don’t know. I have to
believe there is something bigger than me out there, watching out for me,
because I’m sure as heck not bad-ass enough to do it on my own.
6. What is the simple most important thing
needed for a relationship to last?
Hope. Hope is what keeps us together when
the world is tearing us apart. Hope lets us say trite things like “This, too,
shall pass” and hope lets us move mountains and slay dragons and save men from
themselves. Hope. There is no love without hope.
7. What's the strangest thing that has ever
happened to you?
Okay, it goes without saying that the strangest thing that
ever happened was the day my oracle-otherness manifested. I mean, how could I
have known that I had this super-thing in my brain, or that I’d be able to pull
demivamps back from the terrible edge of evolution?
8. Who should play you in a film?
Zooey
Deschanel. She’s got my oracle-blue eyes and seems to have a certain depth of
heart. She can sing, too. I can’t, so if the film is a musical Zooey would be
brilliant.
9. As a child, what did you want to be when
you grew up?
A teacher. My seventh grade teacher yelled at me when I told her.
She said I’d have to work part-time at Kmart just to pay my bills because
teacher’s pay was terrible. I went in to nursing, but the English composition
nerd in me prevailed and I switched to journalism when the medical field got to
be too stressful.
10. Say the first thing that comes to mind
when I say these five words, and be honest:
1. Snow? Snoopy.
2. Peppermind? Peppermint? LOL Life Savers.
3. Couple? Split.
4. Pop? Rocks.
5. Tokyo? Babymetal. Seriously Wiki them
